Our chair hosted a doctoral seminar taught by Mike Pfarrer, 9-13 September 2013. Mike Pfarrers research focuses on external perceptions of firm behaviour and how firms manage these perceptions to create value. His specific interests include positive and negative social evaluations (e.g., firm celebrity, legitimacy, reputation and stigma), impression and crisis management, media accounts, corporate governance and the role of business in society. The doctoral seminar reviewed research in the field of management research, particularly in the areas of organizational theory and behavioral strategy. Additionally, content analysis and related methodologies in the organizational sciences have been emphasized.
