05.02.2025Thank You for 23 Years of Dedication – Continued Collaboration with Prof. Backes-Gellner

Prof. Backes-Gellner, who has significantly shaped our institute and faculty over the past 23 years, will officially retire at the end of January 2025 upon reaching the formal retirement age. However, she will continue to serve as a Full Professor at the University of Zurich under a private-law contract. In this role, she and her team will further expand the Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON: A Research Center on the Economics of Education, Firm Behavior, and Training Policies.

Prof. Backes-Gellner has been a Full Professor of Business Administration since 2002. Additionally, she served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Informatics from 2008 to 2024.
