Linda Rouleau

 

Linda Rouleau is Professor of Business Administration at the HEC Montréal and co-director of the Strategy as Practice Study Group. Her main focus is on strategy-as-practice, organization theories, narratives of practice, middle managers, organizational restructuring, pluralistic contexts and permanently failing organizations. She was one of the main actors in developing and popularizing the concept of strategy as practice, and co-directed the Cambridge Handbook of Strategy as Practice, the major reference in this research field.

Julia Balogun

Julia Balogun

 

Julia Balogun's research centres on strategy-as-practice in strategy development, strategic change and renewal, predominantly within large mature corporations. She has a particular interest in how large corporations can be transformed to retain and regain competitive advantage. She also has a concern for how strategic activity is initiated and championed at multiple levels within organizations, exploring the nature of strategic work for both senior executives and middle managers. Her research in these areas has won international recognition through acceptance in top ranked international journals, as well as contributing to the founding and establishment of the strategy-as-practice field. She employs a wide range of qualitative methods using my previous experience as a consultant to work collaboratively with organisations in a way that enables the co-production and advancement of practitioner and theoretical knowledge about strategy and change. Her research is published in a number of leading journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of International Business Studies and Organization Studies.

Max Bergman is Professor and Chair of Social Research and Methodology at the University of Basel. His main main focus is on sustainability and global studies, particularly the interdependence of society, business, and government in a globalized world. In pursuing policy-relevant and change-oriented research relating to societal sustainability, he and his team are working on a new social science research approach, entitled Social Transitions Research (STR). He teaches and publishes on qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research.

Stewart Clegg

Stewart Clegg

 

Stewart Clegg is an Australian professor in the Organization Studies field and is the author and editor of over forty monographs, textbooks, encyclopaedia, and handbooks including the Sage handbook of power (2009) and Sage directions in organisation studies (2009). Stewart's research interests include organisation and management theory and the theory of power, although he has written on other topics including 'food', 'strategy', 'modernity' and 'gossip'. He sits on Editorial Boards for research journals and is Editor of the AiOS (Advances in Organization Studies) for Benjamins, the European and American publishers. Stewart has also acted as consultant to international newspapers, such as the British Sunday Times and the Australian Financial Review, for whom he has devised the methodology for their "Power Lists", as well as to universities, business firms, and health services.

David Courpasson is a professor of sociology at EMLYON Business School and a researcher at the EMLYON Business School OCE Research Centre. He is editor-in-chief of Organization Studies. Luciana D'Adderio is a Reader in Management in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship where she also acts as Knowledge Exchange Director. Her expertise in Technology and Innovation Management and background in Science and Technology, provides her with a strong focus on the study of technology and how it shapes organisational structure, culture, work practices and change, topics which I analyse from an empirically-grounded and theoretically-informed social science perspective. Her scholarly publications include research articles in leading Organisational, Innovation and Information Systems journals (including Organization Science, Organization Studies, Information and Organizations, Accounting Organization and Society) as well as a monograph with Elgar (2004) titled ‘Inside the Virtual Product’.

Colin Eden is Professor of Management Science and Strategic Management, Vice Dean and Director of the International Division at the University of Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow. His major research interests are into the processes of making strategy; the relationship between operational decision making practices and their strategic consequences; the use of group decision support in the analysis and making of strategy; managerial and organisational cognition; 'soft OR' modelling approaches and methodologies, including particular emphasis on the role of cognitive mapping; the process and practice of 'action research'; and the modelling of the behaviour of large projects disruptions and delays, including issues of the dynamics of productivity changes, and learning curves.

Royston Greenwood

 

Royston Greenwood is the Telus Professor of Strategic Management in the School of Business, University of Alberta. He serves on the editorial boards of several leading North American and European journals and is currently the editor of The Academy of Management Annals. He is a former Chair of the Organization and Management Theory Division of the Academy of Management. In 2010 he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Management; and in 2013 was named that year’s Honorary Member by the European Group for Organization Studies. His work has appeared in most major journals. He has twice won the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management Journal. In 2012 he won the Greif Prize for Research Impact from the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management, and in 2011 received the Scholarly Contribution Award from the Administrative Science Quarterly. His research interests focus upon institutional and organizational change, although recently he has begun to explore the institutional foundations of corporate fraud.

Before joining Warwick Business School, Loizos was Reader in Strategy at the Said Business School and Official Fellow of Templeton College at Oxford University, and Associate Professor of Business Policy at the National University of Singapore. He has authored five books and over 50 articles published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Human Relations, Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. His research interests are in between strategic management, organisational discourse and organisational change and development.

Anne Huff is Visiting Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the TUM Business School in Munich, Germany. She was Founding Director of the Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM), a UK wide management research initiative with offices based at the London Business School, and continues to be a visiting AIM fellow at LBS. She earned her PhD (management) from Northwestern University. Her research interests focus on sustained innovation and strategic change; both are seen as dynamic processes of interaction among firms and as cognitive processes affected by the interaction of individuals over time.

Tomi Laamanen is chair holder and professor of strategic management, and Director of the Institute of Management & Strategy (IoMS) at the University of St. Gallen. Tomi Laamanen holds PhDs in Finance and Strategy and until his appointment at the HSG in 2011, he served as Managing Director of the Strategy Institute of Aalto University in Finland and was a visiting professor at St.Petersburg State University. Tomi is Academic Director of the Master Program in Strategy and International Management (SIM) and of the PhD Program in General Management. He is a board member and treasurer of the Strategic Management Society, editor-in-chief of the Long Range Planning journal and editorial board member of many other journals. Being a member of the supervisory board and strategy consultant, he cooperates with international companies in various industries.

Martin Kornberger is Associate Professor at School of Design and School of Management, UTS and Permanent Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School. He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Vienna in 2002. After a decade in Sydney, he currently lives in Vienna and works at Copenhagen Business School. He has contributed to the fields of organization theory, strategy, accounting and branding. Sally Maitlis is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. Her research examines how people make sense of important, challenging and sometimes painful issues at work. Her studies of these sensemaking processes highlight the emotional side of organizational life, in individuals, work groups, top management teams and boards of directors. Her work has been published in a variety of journals, including the Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, Organizational Science, and Organizational Studies. Sally specializes in qualitative research, closely observing individual, team and organizational processes as they unfold in real time, and analyzing these processes through talk and text. She is a former Associate Editor of Non-Traditional Research at the Journal of Management Inquiry, and currently serves on the Editorial Boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Canadian Journal of the Administrative Sciences, Organization Studies, and the Journal of Management Inquiry.

Ted Schatzki is Senior Associate Dean (Dean of Faculty) in the College of Arts & Sciences and Professor of Philosophy and Geography at the University of Kentucky, USA. His research and teaching interests lie in the theory of social life, including social ontology, theory of action, the philosophy of social science, and 20th-century continental philosophy. He is the author of four books: Social Practices (1996), The Site of the Social (2002), Martin Heidegger: Theorist of Space (2007) and The Timespace of Human Activity (2010). In addition, he is author of numerous articles on Wittgenstein, Heidegger, and various topics in philosophy of action, social theory, and continental philosophy. Schatzki has been a research fellow of the Fulbright Commission and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
