Guets Lecture Claudine Clerc
Three days ago, David welcomed Claudine Clerc (agile coach at Swisscom and founder of monum GmbH) for a practitioner input to his course on organization in the CAS Leadership offered by the Executive Education Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät at the University of Zurich.
Having discussed traditional organizational design choices in the first part of his course, Claudine shared her experiences about new forms of organizing – particularly about holacracy. She outlined the advantages but also the challenges of introducing the principles of holacracy into traditional organizations. Based on the example of the HR department at Swisscom, which introduced holacracy in 2017 but then abolished it after some years again, Claudine showed how it is possible to adopt some principles of holacracy without becoming entirely holacratic.
