Research interest and approach
My research interests lie in the areas of behavioral economics and environmental and social sustainability. In particular, I am interested in more sustainable value chains and corresponding governance structures that are designed to be as effective, efficient and equal (3 e's) as possible and fair with regard to all stakeholders.
My current projects focus on the adoption and compliance of agroforestry by smallholder farmers in Côte D'Ivoire (within the ERC GRANT project FORESTPOLICY) and the effect of exposure to extreme events on risk perceptions and preferences in the Brazilian Amazon.
For my research, I mainly work with primary data from the field, collected either in person or through colleagues, e.g. in interviews. In doing so, I follow both a qualitative as well as quantitative approach.
