Maarten Cerpentier

Maarten Cerpentier is currently a Swiss Government Excellence postdoc fellow in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Before joining UZH, he held positions as a (post)doctoral researcher at Ghent University and as a research associate at Vlerick Business School, both located in Belgium. Dr. Cerpentier completed his Ph.D. in Business Economics with a specialization in innovation management at Ghent University in 2023, and during his doctoral studies, he did a research stay at the Department of Business Administration, UZH in 2022.

Dr. Cerpentier's research interests encompass a variety of topics, including knowledge sourcing for innovation, new product commercialization, and the financing of young ventures. His scholarly work has been published in leading academic journals such as Research Policy and the Journal of Technology Transfer. He has presented his research at international conferences including the Academy of Management Annual Conference in 2021 and DRUID22/23. He has received funding from the Swiss Government Excellence postdoc program for his current research project, entitled “Leveraging digitalization in knowledge sourcing for innovation: The role of partner type and location diversity” which is to be completed at UZH.
