Welcome to the Fall Term 2024! We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful summer break and wish all students a great start to a new term filled with exciting courses.
This semester, our Chair is in a research semester, allowing us to focus on exciting academic projects that will enrich our teaching in the years ahead. While we are offering fewer seminars and no lectures this fall, we are excited to still bring you a selected range of enriching learning opportunities:
We look forward to seeing many of you in our master’s seminar, "The Practice of Strategic Management", taught by Dr. Tania Räcker and Dr. Theresa Langenmayr. This seminar explores how strategy is shaped by the everyday actions of organizational actors, with a strong focus on research and discussion.
Additionally, from October 2-4, we are offering a very exciting doctoral seminar with Prof. Jennifer Howard-Grenville (Cambridge Judge Business School), titled "Reading, Doing, and Writing Qualitative Work in Management and Organization Studies: Why, What, and How". This seminar offers a hands-on deep dive into the entire qualitative research journey -- guiding you from designing your study to mastering data analysis and crafting compelling publications.
At the doctoral level, we are also offering our "Organization, Management, and Theories of the Firm" seminar, which takes place alongside a conference on September 26 and 27 at the University of Bern. This seminar, held in collaboration with other Swiss universities, provides a valuable opportunity for PhD students to receive direct feedback on their research projects while engaging in networking and social events.
If you are interested in writing your bachelor’s or master’s thesis with us, join our online info event on October 8th, 2024, from 15:00-16:00. You can register by emailing Kalliopi Vagias. For more information on all our current offerings click here.
We are excited for the semester ahead and look forward to seeing you!
