    We are very excited to announce the 2nd Open Strategy Workshop, dedicated to bringing together scholars and practitioners to explore and discuss the evolving landscape of Open Strategy. The workshop serves as a collaborative platform to share insights, discuss ongoing and future research projects, and foster new collaborations in the field.

    Exciting news! We are delighted to share the latest Chair publication: In a new article that was just published in Organization Theory Tania Räcker, Daniel Geiger, and David Seidl propose a spatial perspective on coordination and introduce a configurational approach to analyzing the role of space in organizing.

    We are delighted to share that our new researcher in residence has arrived: Jing You from the School of Management at Fudan University, China, will be staying with us at the UZH Chair of Organization and Management for one year.

  • Open Strategy Meeting at AOM

    It was a great pleasure for us to meet and chat with so many Open Strategy scholars at this year’s Academy of Management.

  • PDW on Spatial Approaches

    Our PDW at AOM2024 Academy of Management in Chicago on "Spatial approaches to address grand challenges" was great. We delved into how spatial approaches can play a pivotal role in addressing some of the most pressing global issues of our time—like climate change, inequality, and the refugee crisis.

    We are happy to share the fantastic news that David Seidl received the Joan Martin Trailblazer Award 2024 at the Academy of Management conference in Chicago today – together with his great friends and colleagues Julia Balogun, Paula Jarzabkowski, and Richard Whittington.

    The final symposium of Strategizing Activities and Practices (SAP) Interest Group during AOM2024 aims to stimulate a critical dialogue on diversity, equity, and inclusion in strategy-making.

    We are really excited for this paper development workshop on spatial approaches to grand challenges that will take place at the upcoming Academy of Management Meeting in Chicago, on Saturday, 10th of August. It is co-organized by our Chair member Tania Räcker, and David Seidl will be one of the esteemed panelists.

  • Colloquium 2024 in Milan

    Today, our chair successfully co-organized the Strategy-as-Practice Community Day 2024 on “Practicing Strategy at the Crossroads: Navigating Transformation Through Time, Space, and People” at EGOS2024.

  • Open Strategy Workshop

    Just now, we wrapped up the inspiring first Oxford & Zurich Open Strategy Workshop, hosted by David Seidl and Richard Whittington. The event brought together a diverse group of scholars and practitioners to explore the dynamic field of Open Strategy.

  • Summer Magic Mountain

    This week, our annual Summer Magic Mountain took place at a beautiful monastery in Stans (NE). The location provided a very cozy atmosphere and offered a great view of the Bürgenstock, where the international Peace Conference will be held in about two weeks.

    Today was Christoph Brielmaier’s last day at our office. For the past four months, Christoph, originally from the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, has visited our Chair as researcher in residence.
