Nils Hossli successfully earned a PhD in Business Administration at the Chair for Marketing, URPP Social Networks.
Nils Hossli defended his PhD thesis on the topic of "The Predictive Power of Personal Values - Job Satisfaction, Digital Markets, and Consumer Choices" in front of the examining committee: Prof. Dr. Martin Natter (supervisor) and Prof. Dr. Andrea Giuffredi-Kähr (co-examiner).
The dissertation investigates the role of personal values in predicting behaviors and preferences across different scenarios, using Schwartz's Value Theory as its framework. It consists of three studies: the first explores the relationship between job satisfaction and the alignment of personal and work values, introducing a new method to measure value incongruence. The second examines the impact of personal values on behaviors within the non-fungible token (NFT) market, identifying three primary purchasing motives—social, for a good cause, and economic—and developing a scale to measure them. The third study analyzes how wine-related cues convey specific values and their effect on wine preferences. Each paper contributes to the understanding of how deeply personal values are connected to decision-making and satisfaction in both professional and personal contexts.
Congratulations from the entire group to Dr. Hossli for the excellent contribution to research!
