Santiago Walliser studied Quantitative Finance at the University of Zurich. In 2021, he graduated summa cum laude with a thesis in which he developed a stock trading strategy based on an insider trading sentiment extracted from option prices using news sentiment.
Santiago joined the Chair of Entrepreneurship as an external PhD Candidate in September 2021. His research focuses on the development of quantitative investment strategies based on natural language processing such as sentiment analytics.
Alongside his PhD, Santiago works as a Portfolio Manager at JMS Invest, a systematic EU Small Caps L/S fund, and is Co-Founder of Chiron Services, a company that supports companies in their digital transformation using AI. Previously, he held a position as an NLP and Sentiment Expert in the Artificial Intelligence team at UBS.
